For centuries, much of our recorded history has been written by men. Until now.
In Sweden, less than ten percent of the people mentioned in the article about Swedish history on Wikipedia, “Sveriges historia”, are women. This is utmost wrong and misleading, creating a false picture of Swedish history.
That’s why we created The Equal edit – a campaign where we rewrite history by adding influential women back into articles about Swedish history. Together, they will write a more accurate and inclusive history. To get all the historic data right, we partnered with Historiskan, the first journal in Sweden focusing on women’s history.
The Equal Edit is made possible by volunteer Swedish Wikipedia editors who have come together to update the articles.
